Getting Started

Every artist starts somewhere—and you don’t need expensive supplies, years of experience, or a mysterious stash of artistic talent to begin. Getting Started is where you’ll find the basics: choosing and using your tools, understanding simple coloring techniques, tracing, grid drawing, caring for your pencils, fixing little mistakes, and learning what all those art supplies actually do. Start with what you have, experiment freely, and remember: the goal isn’t a perfect page. It’s discovering what happens when you pick up a pencil and begin.
